Acura has released some information about new 2009 TSX. It is still powered by 2.4 liter naturally aspirated motor, which now produces 201 hp and 172 lb-ft of torque (with manual transmission). The new in-line 4-cylinder engine produces its useable power across a much wider rpm range, while five percent more torque further strengthens the engine's pulling power at middle rpm levels.
Honda also unveiled Euro Accord interior pictures, which give us an idea what TSX's interior might look like.

Honda presented to the world the exciting Accord Tourer Concept and the new generation of Honda diesel engines, i-DTEC at the 2007 Frankfurt motor show.
The premiere of the Accord Tourer Concept provides a strong indication of the design direction of the all-new generation Accord Tourer set to debut in mid-2008. The wider, lower look signals a sportier, more emotional styling approach, and while the design of the current Accord Tourer maximises its load-carrying capability, the new model goes for smarter, sleeker proportions while retaining a strong degree of versatility and practicality. The Concept's greater width makes for a more spacious cabin and also allows an increased track for enhanced handling characteristics.

Get ready, America: Honda will start shipping its midsize Stream minivan to the US starting in 2009, according to a source familiar with the program.
Honda might have the Odyssey as arguably the best minivan in the U.S., but Honda product planners also see a niche for a smaller model that’s also less pricey and gets better fuel mileage.
Honda first launched the Stream as a stylish, compact, three-row minivan in Japan back in 2000 and scored a monster hit. Underneath, it shares architecture with the CR-V and Civic.
When the Stream was redesigned in Japan last summer, the same compact, seven/eight-seat people moving formula carried over. However, while the driving dynamics definitely improved, the Stream’s stylistic redesign has met with mixed reviews and sales to date have been low-key.
Undeterred, Honda will relaunch an updated version of the Stream in the US for ‘09 , says our source, but only a two-row version will be coming. Also, it’s too early to know yet whether the States will get both the 1.8 and 2.0-liter gas engines from the Japanese Stream, or perhaps something else. Will the Stream arrive with optional all-wheel drive, as available in its home market? All will be revealed in time.
What do you think? Is this a smart move for Honda of America? Have your say in ‘Comments.’

Spy photographers have caught a new Acura sedan testing in the California desert. It is obvious that the sedan in the pictures is a new Acura sedan (front grille), but it is unclear which sedan it actually is.
The prototype in these photos looks bigger than the current TSX, so it could be the next TL. Both sedans are due for redesigns in 2009. Even though the sedan looks big it is definitely not a new RL, since that isn't due for a redesign until 2010 or 2011.
New line up of Acura sedans is supposed to be based on completely new platform and might get SH-AWD system similar to RL and RDX.

Honda has practically swept the board in this year’s Which? Car reliability survey, the biggest-ever owner satisfaction survey in the UK with almost 100,000 cars rated. The Honda Jazz is the most reliable new car, with a reliability rating of 96 per cent. More than 1,300 owners confirmed it rarely lets them down – cementing its reputation as the number one for dependable motoring. Not only does Honda make the most reliable supermini, it also either wins or shares the honours in the medium car (the previous generation Honda Civic), large car (Honda Accord), MPV (Honda FR-V) and off-roader (previous generation Honda CR-V) categories.
There is just one surprise from Honda – the latest Civic has a poor reliability rating of only 82 per cent. Owners have reported problems with the fuel system, steering and suspension.

It appears that Acura will remain banished from its homeland for the foreseeable future, despite Honda claiming nearly two years ago that it would begin selling its luxury brand in Japan by 2008. At the same meeting this week during which Honda CEO Takeo Fukui announced that there'd be a redesigned Fit come year's end, he also revealed that an Acura would now not be sold on the nation island until around 2010, or "two years or so from its original plan of fall 2008." It seems that with sales way off in the Japanese home market, Honda would rather focus its resources on aligning its current Honda dealerships into a better integrated network, as well as establishing larger dealerships in heavily populated metro areas, no doubt in order to move more of those popular minicars. We doubt larger vehicles like the MDX (shown above), would fare as well in Japan as they do in the U.S., anyway.

The Honda Fit/ Jazz subcompact has been a hit for Honda. The automaker just announced that the Honda has sold 2 million units of the current model, which came out in 2001. Honda CEO Takeo Fukui has confirmed that the next generation Fit/Jazz will be unveiled this fall. Sales of the new car will start in Japan this fall and in the U.S. soon after.
The Fit has only been in the U.S. for about a year and a half, but it is already an immediate success here as well. Honda can't make enough of the car.
The new Fit will be marginally bigger than the current version, which will result in more interior room. The same engines are expected to carryover as well, although a hybrid version could eventually be released.

TOKYO (MarketWatch) -- Honda Motor Co. (7267.TO) said Thursday that it will halt part of its Japan auto production Friday, as engine parts supplier Riken Corp. (6462.TO) remains unable to resume operations after a major earthquake in Japan Monday.
Honda is the latest Japanese auto maker that has decided to temporarily suspend some domestic output due to the Riken closure. The company's plant in Kashiwazaki, Niigata Prefecture sustained serious damage after the 6.8-magnitude quake rocked Japan's northwest coast.
Honda will shut down production at a plant in Mie Prefecture Friday, which will result in an output loss of 2,000 vehicles, a spokesman at the auto maker said.
Honda buys engine-use piston rings and other parts from Riken.
The car maker will monitor the situation and decide whether it can resume production next week. The Mie plant produces the Fit compact and Civic small car, among other models.
Honda will continue to produce motorcycles in Japan as usual, the spokesman said.

Nihocar.com test drives new Japanese Civic Type R through the mountains.
It’s almost like a ritual, every time a certain type of Honda is planned, presented and finally launched, car enthusiasts from all around the world patiently wait and hope for a souped up version rocking the legendary Type-R badge.
But what’s a Type-R?
Well, if you look back, it’s been almost 20 years since Honda started selling “street legal” high performance cars for all those who see something more in cars, than just a quick way to go from point A to B.
There has been the NSX Type-R, that I had the pleasure to drive and review, the Integra, the Accord and of course the Civic Type-R. All are vehicle which put passion for performance and driving as top priorities…for every car that shows the famous logo there have been people at Honda working with a total dedication on each part of the car which directly affect the drivability and efficiency: the engine obviously but also the suspensions, gearbox, clutch, the overall rigidity and the weight reduction among other things.
